Very professional doctors, friendly and helpful staff!! My dog, Toy Terrier is 17 years old, I was very worried and scared when she stoped eating and became very lethargic, with a swollen cheek and an infected eye. we turned to emergency. antibiotics were prescribed and after 4 days the removal of diseased teeth under anesthesia. Of course, I was very worried (17 years old) to do anesthesia, but the doctor took all the necessary tests and everything went great. My dog is very attached to me and practically does not recognize strangers. therefore, on the day of the operation, I brought her to the clinic, they took her blood for analysis, and I took the dog home before the tests were ready and I brought her right before the operations. So you don’t need to leave it for extra hours just to be in the clinic wile getting results done. Thank you ABVC for saving by dogy

I came to this clinic trusting my little dog is in safe hands and the doctor/nurses assured me that all the relevant checks would be conducted on her prior to being put under anesthesia. Unfortunately, my dog didn’t survive and passed away due to a cardiac arrest after being administered anesthesia by them. I was specifically told that all major organs would be checked but it turned out they did no checks on the heart as I was told “this is the standard process”. Makes me wonder am I the only person (non- medical) who thinks heart is a major organ??

My dog usually gets excited and pants a lot when she is not in a familiar environment. They asked me to bring my dog in a 12-hour fasted state at 9am but then made her wait until 2:30pm to start the surgery! So effectively they had her fasting for 17.5 hours and in an anxious state before putting her under anesthesia. No doubt this would have probably put a lot of strain on her little heart which probably gave up once she was under anesthesia. You go to a clinic thinking they will assess a patient completely (breeds like French bulldog do tend to have elevated shallow breathing) – you’d think a vet would be aware of that.

In addition to all the above, it is also infuriating is that the doctor couldn’t answer any of our questions and kept changing his responses. Some details specified on the procedure & anesthesia sheets were inaccurate which he simply dismissed as “typos”. I know my baby is gone forever and nothing that I do will bring her back. But I think it’s important for me to tell you all my story and what I went through. For everyone else she is just a dog but for me she was my everything.

We took our beloved 3 year old, healthy French Bulldog for a routine spay procedure to Al Barsha Veterinary Clinic who, sadly, passed away under their apparent “care”. Despite apparently having done a pre-procedure blood test our little dog suffered 3 cardiac arrests under the anathetisa they administered. After learning the devastating news we had a number of questions for the doctor who was not able to answer competently. He bumbled on and kept changing his answers that ranged from “I don’t know” to “Maybe she was too old” to “Maybe she was allergic to anasthesia” to “She may have had an existing heart condition”. Upon doing our own research – it came to light that the doctor had not adequately tested for heart fitness and only assessed the kidney & liver. His exact words were “it is not standard practice to check the heart” – I mean really?? Also, the details specifed on the anathesia and operation procedure sheets were grossly inaccurate and didn’t make any sense. For instance, the start time of the procedure was after the first cardiac arrest! Additionally, exactly 2 mins after my little doggie had her third cardiac arrest he was on the phone telling us she had passed. So basically he spent just 1 min and a half (assuming it took him a record 30 secs to get to a phone straight out of the operation theatre) in attempting to resuscitate her? When questioned on these discrepancies, he said, “oh those are just typos”. It is shameful that ABVC could not ensure the safety of my little dog, adequately answer questions or even document the procedure details accurately.
Would I recommend this clinic – absolutely not. Unfortunately, we learned it the very very hard way and are heart broken having lost our best friend. We’ll never get her back . A one star is probably WAY too much for this clinic. Do yourself and your pet a favour and stay away.

I have always approached ABVC with all the major issues with my pets and they have handled them extremely well.
Even though they do respond to all the calls,I would request them to give timely update about the surgeries on WhatsApp too.
